Three Tips to Ensure the Safe Transport of Your Home Gym Gear

Blog

Spring is a time when many people choose to move home. Not only is the weather warmer, but it's an ideal time to get shifted and settled into your new home before the summer holidays arrive. Packing up a house is an arduous job, but if you tackle it methodically, you can make this task easier. You may be someone who owns quite a bit of home gym equipment but has never had to move it before, so you are not too sure what is the best way to pack it up. These three tips will ensure your gym gear arrives at your new home in good condition, ready to put you through your paces in a new location.

Start with the Small Things

A small moving box is an ideal place to put your smaller gym items so they don't move around a lot. Your skipping rope, gym towel, and smallest dumbbells can all be stored together in the one spot. Wrap your gym towels around the dumbbells to stop them rubbing together while in transit.

Heavy Weights

For the heavier weights, you need to ensure that whatever vessel you pack them into is strong enough not to collapse under the weight of these items. Consider purchasing plastic storage containers with lids. These weights can be wrapped in linen or bubble wrap to stop them rubbing together during the move. Be mindful though not to put too many weights into one box. You don't want it to be too hard to carry. Instead, distribute the weights across many different boxes, and then fill in the space of the box with other light things you need to move such as clothes, bedding, and so on.

Treadmill

A treadmill is a heavy piece of equipment, so make sure your moving company knows that you have one to be relocated. They will use a moving dolly to transport it out of the house and onto the truck. Remove the safety key from the treadmill and place it in a safe place so that it does not get lost in transit. If possible, lift the running deck up to the console. Once it has clicked into place, wrap the treadmill in either moving blankets or industrial-grade moving plastic to protect the item from scratches or dents during the drive to your new home.

If you have any other gym equipment that you are worried about moving, talk to a removal services professional for their recommendations on how to best protect it during the transit.

Growing Village - A Simple Guide To Real Estate

Hello there. I have spent my whole life in the same house. I inherited it from my parents, and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. When I was a child, my parents referred to our town as a "seaside village". My how things have changed! These days, I live in centre of a major city with resorts and highrises all around. Seeing the transformation has been absolutely fascinating. As I've watched the value of houses around me skyrocket, I've developed a voyeur's interest in the real estate market. I love nothing more than browsing in a real estate agent's window, attending an open house or watching an auction. I know that this is a hobby for quite a few people as some of my neighbours join me on my "excursions". I hope that others with an interest in real estate will enjoy the casual observations recorded in this blog.
